About Us

Eastecho Shetland Sheepdogs is owned by Courtney Stevens and Kalip Fraser. Our family is located in the South Shore region of Nova Scotia, Canada within minutes of the beautiful picturesque towns of Mahone Bay and Lunenburg.

We pride ourselves in training, trialling and titling our own dogs in multiple performance venues.   Our goal is to produce shelties that are versatile companions with soundness in health and workable temperaments to get the job done.  We actively compete in AAC and CKC agility, NAFA  flyball, CKC rally-o, CKC obedience, CDDA, Toss and Fetch league and UpDog disc, and CKC conformation.

Our breeding shelties are CKC registered and health tested for OFA Hips and Elbows, TgAA, CAER and also with a complete DNA panel for common genetic diseases in the breed including mDR1, DM, CEA, vWD III, DMS, CNGA1-PRA.

All puppies are raised in our home with the Puppy Culture program and have a health guarantee and lifetime breeder support.

We are members of the Canadian Kennel Club, on the Board of Directors for Bluenose Agility and Recreational Canines and are active team members of Maple Leaps Flyball Club.

Courtney was two years old when she had her first shetland sheepdog named Shadow.  He was her childhood companion and followed her everywhere. After his passing in 1999, Courtney wanted another sheltie, but the time was not right for her parents. However, Courtney's grandmother which lived next door at the time, had a wonderful sheltie named Riley which she got to see everyday. After graduating from university, Courtney brought Echo home from Herdabout Shelties (Kellie and Jeff Whiteside) in 2009. Echo was everything she wanted in a sheltie; a biddable temperament and a versatile worker.  They have been inseparable ever since.

Eastecho Shelties is dedicated to my heart dog, Echo and my home - on the east coast of Canada.
